ILL PEACH BLAH BLAH BLAH

‘BLAH BLAH BLAH’ comes from the minds of ill peach, a duo from Los Angeles. Their sound sits somewhere between laid-back, atmospheric dream pop and jagged, twisting punk. Straight rhythms push from every corner of the rhythm section, driving the track towards its heavily textured, euphorically melodic climax. “We wrote ‘BLAH BLAH BLAH’ around the time Roe v. Wade was overturned, which was a very sensitive and heartbreaking day,” they explain. “It felt like a huge step backwards in women’s rights. The song describes the repetitive cycle of birthing out sons and daughters and then ultimately being consumed by mother earth herself. Yet the world sees women as weak forces. Defining all of it with the phrase ‘blah, blah, blah’ felt like the epitome.” The band can be seen live in Los Angeles this July. -Dan Peeke
